Job Description: Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our groundskeeping team as an Assistant Groundsperson. In this role, you will work closely with our Head Groundsperson and the groundskeeping team to ensure the highest standards of pitch quality and maintenance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the club’s training facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with all aspects of pitch maintenance, including mowing, fertilizing, seeding, and irrigation, to ensure optimal playing conditions for matches and training sessions.
  • Operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment and machinery, such as mowers, tractors, and irrigation systems, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Assisting with the marking and lining of the pitch for matches and training sessions, ensuring accurate dimensions and markings in accordance with football regulations.
  • Monitoring pitch conditions and reporting any issues or concerns to the Head Groundsperson, including pest infestations, disease outbreaks, and weather-related damage.
  • Assisting with stadium and pitch preparations for match days, including goalpost installation, pitch protection, and signage placement, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for players and spectators.
  • Undertaking general maintenance tasks around the stadium and training facilities, including cleaning, painting, and repairs, to ensure a clean and tidy appearance at all times.
  • Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques in groundskeeping and pitch maintenance.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and operating heavy machinery.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior staff members.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and match days, as required by the football calendar.
